By then, the band's musical direction had evolved, moving Scaffold towards a more catchy and groove-oriented style, departing from their earlier progressive metal roots showcased on their 1991 album Eerie Circles. The production itself reflected a moment of transition: pre-produced Cubase keys, a Soundtracs Jade console, a Sony APR-24 analog tape machine — and a borrowed TC Electronic Finalizer from Amptown Hamburg. The EP was recorded over just three sleepless weekends. At the same time, the musical landscape was changing rapidly. The rise of grunge, changing audience tastes and the increasing importance of major-label support and strong marketing made it increasingly difficult for bands like Scaffold to be heard. Thirty years later, Find Your Way remains a small but authentic piece of Germany's underground metal history - and a snapshot of a moment when analog recording, early digital production and a changing music industry briefly converged.
